“SECRET SERVICE SPECIAL” DA Revolver Iver Johnson
CHICAGO SHIPPED Small Early 20th Century Conceal & Carry Revolver
Description: “SECRET SERVICE SPECIAL” DA Revolver Iver Johnson CHICAGO SHIPPED Small Early 20th Century Conceal & Carry Revolver Here we present an Iver Johnson Double Action Top Break “Secret Service Special” Revolver in .32 caliber, made circa 1912-1917 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. There were three American companies that marked their revolvers known as the “Secret Service Special”. They were Iver Johnson, Harrington & Richardson, and Meriden Firearms. The distinct feature showing this was made by Iver Johnson is the manual safety on the frame. Neither H&R nor Meriden used a safety. These revolvers were based on another Iver Johnson brand, the U.S. Revolver Company and were contract revolvers made for a wholesaler/distributer called the Fred Biffar Company out of Chicago, Illinois. This revolver was designed to be small and concealable for self-defense in the years leading up to the Roaring Twenties. This revolver is chambered for 5 shots of .32 S&W and features a trigger safety insert, somewhat like those in striker fired handguns today. The action works in both double and single action. The left side of the barrel is marked “SECRET SERVICE SPECIAL” and the top of the barrel is marked “FOR .32 SMITH & WESSON CTGS”. Mother of pearl lookalike grips. The overall condition is good. The iron parts are gray. The markings are legible. The grips are in very good condition. The bore is dark with visible rifling. The action remains strong. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 3 inches. Caliber: .32 S&W Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $345 #190561 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
