Horse & Rider Engraved HOPKINS & ALLEN “No. 6” .38 S&W REVOLVER C&R
Description: Horse & Rider Engraved HOPKINS & ALLEN “No. 6” .38 S&W REVOLVER C&R With Horse and Rider Engraved on the Frame! Here we present an antique Hopkins & Allen No. 6 Revolver in .38 S&W with a Bucking Bronco & Rider Engraving. The H&A Double Action No. 6 was manufactured between 1896 and 1899 and is chambered for 5 shots of .38 S&W. Hopkins & Allen Manufacturing Company was a major manufacturer of rifles, shotguns, and inexpensive cartridge handguns between 1868 and 1915. After an initial investment of $2000, H & A began operations as a producer of firearms, machinery, tools, and hardware. After the expiration of the Rollin White Patent in 1869, they began converting their percussion revolvers to accept cartridge ammunition. In addition, they started producing a line of spur-trigger cartridge revolvers in .22 and .32 calibers. From its humble beginnings, Hopkins and Allen had grown from a small shop with 30 employees to become a major producer of firearms and an employer of 600 workers. In a state known for firearm production, H & A ranked third only behind Colt and Winchester. In 1899, Hopkins & Allen had a fire, and after that the only solid frame double action revolvers manufactured were the XL series, which were only slightly different from the No. 6. Hopkins & Allen continued to manufacture a variety of revolvers and small arms until 1915. The overall condition is fine. The action is strong and tight. The bore is shiny bright with nice rifling. 90% of the original finish remains. The left side of the frame features an engraving of a man riding a bronco. A great piece with lots of character! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 6 inches. Caliber: .38 S&W Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $765 #20034 SOLD Antique: Yes |
