Exceptional German Officer's Model 1883 Reich Revolver
Description: Serial #1907, 10.6 x 25R, 4 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is an exceedingly nice, all-matching revolver that retains 97-98% of the original bright blue finish that has silvered lightly at the muzzle, along the high edges and projections, and restricts most of the blue loss to rear gripstrap just above the lanyard swivel. The hammer still has the armory bright finish on the head, with the balance having a freckled gray-brown patina. Original straw color is still present on the cylinder release pin latch spring on the left side, and original nitre-blue remains on the safety. The walnut grips are numbered to the gun on the interior, and are in fine-near excellent condition with some mild flattening of the points. The action is tight and functions flawlessly. Most likely this revolver was purchased by an officer. This example shows no regimental markings and has finely checkered grips. This is simply a splendid example of Model 1883 "Reichsrevolver" that has a rarely seen amount of the original metal finish remaining. It is in excellent condition overall, and would be very difficult to upgrade. Antique. SOLD Antique: Yes Manufacturer: German Model: 1883 Serial Number: 1907 Caliber Info: 10.6mm Gauge Info: 10.6mm |
