Velo-dog or Velodog
5.75 mm (.22 calibre) revolver
Description: SOLD The Velo-Dog (also known as a Revolver de Poche[1]) was a pocket revolver originally created in France by René Galand, son of Charles-François Galand in the late 19th century as a defense for cyclists against dog attacks.[2] The name is a compound word composed of "velocipede" (bicycle) and "dog". (Wikipedia) This example was made in Belgium in the early 1900s, and is in the original 5.75 mm (.22 calibre) center fire, Velo-dog cartridge. The finish on this is near perfect for being 100+ years old. There is a small chip missing from the left grip. The folding trigger and hammer are both very finely jeweled. Action is tight and timing seems perfect. $15.00 shipping to your C&R or FFL. Money order or check.
