This is an incredible custom 1917-style Ruger by Hamiton Bowen and Bowen Classic Arms Corp. of Tennessee, arguably the finest builder of custom handguns. In addition to welding up the top strap and re-machining to fixed-sight form, they modified the usual ribbed barrel into a round style with an integral front sight base with dovetailed sight. According to Hamilton Bowen, few guns of this style were built and he thinks this is likely the only one with a 4-inch barrel. The action has been tuned and gun has a lanyard ring, checkered hammer, and smooth trigger. The AMAZING grips are checkered ivory and were made by the master, Paul Persinger. If you aren't familiar with Persinger, he's one of the finest custom grip makers and his work in ivory is unmatched. Gun also comes with a custom leather holster made specifically for it by El Paso Saddlery of El Paso, Texas. This gun is really a work of art by the finest custom handgun builder and couldn't be duplicated for anywhere near this price.
