Commemorative Sheriff’s Relief Association of Los Angeles County, Sixtieth Year Limited Edition. Ruger New Model Blackhawk, Serial Number 36-45666, Manufacture 1984, Caliber .357 Magnum, Action: Single Action Revolver with Side Loading-Gate Cylinder. Barrel 6 ½”, the front sight is a serrated ramped blade on an elevated base. The rear sight is a square notch adjustable for windage and elevation. The grips are smooth hardwood with silver on black Ruger medallions. The gun has been fired but is in great shape and a clean finish no marks.
Markings: The right side of the barrel is marked “LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT”. The right side of the frame is marked with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Star, and “36-45666”. The top strap is marked “1850-1984”. The left side of the barrel is marked with the Ruger Warning. The left side of the frame is marked with the Sheriff’s Star and “RUGER .357 MAGNUM CAL. / NEW MODEL BLACKHAWK”. The backstrap is marked “SRA SIXTIETH YEAR LIMITED EDITION” SRA stands for Sheriff’s Relief Association. The cylinder and barrel are engraved with light swirls.
This revolver comes in an engraved wooden Presentation case. The lid of the case has a Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff’s Star on it. Below the star, reads “SHERIFFS RELIEF ASSOCIATION OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY / SIXTIETH YEAR LIMITED EDITION”. Inside the case is a belt buckle which reads “LOS ANGELES COUNTY / SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT” with the badge in the center. The interior of the case is blue velvet. The lid of the box has a couple of scrapes to the finish. The bottom of the box is felt lined.
