****SOLD**** Presented here is a spectacular Second Generation Colt Single Action Army revolver in .45 Colt caliber. This beautiful Colt SAA was shipped from the factory on June 22, 1970 to Smitty's Sporting Goods in Dallas, TX.. The Colt Single Action Army needs no introduction, but in brief, the Colt Single Action Army (also known as the SAA, Model P, Peacemaker, or M1873) is a single-action revolver handgun. It was designed in 1872 for the U.S. government service revolver trials of 1872 by Colt's Patent Firearms Manufacturing Company (today known as Colt's Manufacturing Company) and was adopted as the standard-issued pistol of the US Army in 1873 until 1892. This particular example is in outstanding condition and appears to be unfired. The case hardening has lots of color and the bone grips are in excellent condition being free of cracks or chips. There are no perceptable turn rings on the cylinder. Only the very lightest of handling marks exist. This fine Colt Single Action Army would make a great investment and addition to an existing collection or an awesome start to a new collection. Original Stagecoach Commemorative box and Colt letter of authenticity are included.
