1958 Colt Single Action Army 45LC Extensively Engraved, Gold Plated, Ivory Grips, Single Gun Texas Shipment to Oshman's Sporting Goods Beaumont
Description: Up for sale is a stunning embelished Colt Single Action Army Revolver. Full gold plated, extensive scroll engraving, ivory grips, and Colt Factory Letter confirming the caliber and barrel length but not the engraving or gold. As a single gun shipment its possible it was ordered specifically to be engraved, Oshman's was also a prominent dealer in Texas during this time and known for its clientel of Texas Rangers and the Oil Industry. Two likely customers for a highly embelished Colt! I am still looking for more information as to who possibly engraved the gun, I am by no means certain that it was period engraved but my guess is that it was. So far have not found other similar examples outside of a pair of engraved pythons sold by Oshman's in the early 1970s. Lot 546 in Rock Island's Premier Sale September 11th, 2020. Gun is in excellent condition, does show some minor wear and handling but it is largely overlooked. Really a gorgeous gun, you will not be disappointed with it!
