Colt Single Action Bisley Revolver 5.5” Barrel, .41 Long Colt, w/Holster & Archive Letter
Description: This Colt Single Action Bisley revolver, serial number 318852, was shipped to Norvell-Shapleigh Hardware Company, St. Louis, Missouri, with one other gun on September 11, 1911. It was shipped blue and case colors with 5.5” barrel, in .41 Long Colt caliber and with standard hard rubber grips. The gun is in fine condition mechanically, with all four clicks and three stops. It retains probably 75% of its original blue and some faded case colors. The bore has strong rifling, scattered, shallow black powder corrosion, only one spot which is a little deeper about mid-bore. A picture of a target what the Bisley shot at 10 yards shows accuracy. The gun is responsible for the four-shot group. The fifth shot is my fault! The holster housing the Bisley is relatively rare. It is heavy leather, double loop, hand carved one made in the 1940’s. It has been mended over the top but is in good shape. It was made by A. H. Hardy of Beverly Hills, California for the Hollywood Saddlery of Hollywood, CA. Hardy was a southern California personality and world famous sharpshooter who was one of Buffalo Bill Cody’s pall bearers in Denver. (Historical information on the holster and a Colt letter will accompany gun.) Shipping is $100.00, USPS Priority, insured.
