Colt Single Action Army Revolver SAA .38 WCF 4.75" Barrel w/Holster, Letter c. 1904

Description:
This is a 1st Generation Colt Single Action Army revolver (serial #252804) shipped to Wyeth Hardware, St. Joseph, Missouri, March 2, 1904 with 19 other guns. It is blue and case, in .38 WCF (.38-40), with hard rubber grips and 4.75" barrel. It is mechanically correct with a good bore and decent lock up for its age. There is little finish left, mostly a patina, a little darker on the blued portions, with shallow frosting throughout. The digits 553 appear on the outside of the cylinder, but since Colt stopped numbering cylinders about 1882, it is probably a replacement from an earlier gun.

The holster is a heavy leather, single loop, bulss head style made by H. H. Heiser, Denver, Colorado, in good condition.
