Colt SAA Caliber 44/40 Single Action Revolver
Description:
Colt SAA Caliber 44/40 Single Action Revolver
Caliber: 44/40
Barrel: 7.5"
Note: This is a 1920 manufactured, first generation, late smokeless powder, Colt SA revolver in caliber 44/40. The gun is completely original save the replacement grips. The left grip panel is cracked and repaired. The bore is bright with strong lands and grooves. The gun is mechanically crisp. The primary wear on the original finish is on the cylinder and barrel. The backstrap, trigger guard, and side rod ejector housing all retain strong amounts of factory blue. Heavy blue wear shows on the cylinder and barrel. Case coloring can be seen over the entire frame, however only strongly in protected areas. There is some desparity in the amount of finish on the backstrap, trigger guard and side rod ejector housing as opposed to the frame, cylinder and barrel. If any of these nicer parts have been refinished, it has been done early on judging by the blue quality and color. A nice specimen in a harder to find caliber!
