MODEL 1873 U.S. CAVALRY REVOLVER W/ARCHIVE & KOPEC LETTERS- L.D.
INSPECTED
Description: This is a beautifu and well preserved Colt S.A.A. U.S. Cavalry revolver. Serial number #34366 , and all matching, numbered parts. 7.5" barrel, with an excellent bright, strongly rifled bore. .45 Long Colt caliber. Manufactured in 1877 and delivered to the United States Government. A wonderful well documented Colt .45 Cavalry Revolver with a concise review from renown expert John A. Kopec. Colt factory archives establish that this revolver, 34366, was delivered to the US Government Inspector in a shipment of 200 guns on Jan 31, 1877. Noted authority John Kopec established that this specified revolver was dually inspected by LT. David A. Lyle as well as sub-inspected by Lewis Draper. Mr. Kopec determined after detailed inspection that the revolver be authentic in all respects and without issue. He determined as well that the gun is in Very Fine condition with visible case colors on frame and appropriate candy stripe pattern blue on trigger guard and that the grip show a very faint trace of US Inspector John T. Cleveland's cartouche on right grip panel. The condition is Very fine with barrel and backstrap having traces of blue finish in protected areas and balance an honest patina. The frame retains ample case colors in protected areas and honest patina balance. Screws are authentic and in fine condition. Cylinder and bore are very good and with out issue. The grip is very good, full sized and retaining a trace of the Cleveland cartouche. Hammer is correct and has shadows of case colors. This is a very fine and well documented Colt US Cavalry revolver without issues and would be a prize in any Colt or Calvary collection. $20.00 shipping to the lower 48 states.
