Description:
"Serial number 9755. Made in 1874. 45 LC caliber with a 7 ½" barrel. This is an interesting Ainsworth inspected Colt Single Action Army. This gun has approximately 70% of a period Nickel finish. This gun is matching except the butt strap. The grips appear to be off an artillery Colt Single Action. They are dated 1903. This gun (along with the back strap) belongs to a series of guns issued to the State of West Virginia. The State of West of Virginia immediately sold the entire shipment of approximately 1700 guns to the civilian market. Very neat gun that most likely made it to the Western front.
