Very early RARE 1851 royal blue Colt Navy with “O” cipher stamped on the trigger guard. SN 6783 Never fired. Very faint turn line.
C Series Colt second generation model 1851 Navy percussion revolver with .36 cal. 7.5” octagon barrel, hinged loading lever, six shot cylinder with roll engraved naval battle scene –“C” series Royal Blue barrel, wedge, cylinder, trigger, and screws. Color case hardened frame, loading lever, and hammer has exceptional hues. Silver plated back strap and square back trigger guard. One piece varnished grip. SN range went from 4210 to 25100 in years 1971 to 1978 I would put the MFG year late 71 or early 72
Word is the first 1000 of the 51’s made in 1971 had the “O” Cipher stamped on the trigger guard to differentiate them from the first generation models. The royal blue finish and color case hardening on this gun are exceptionally brilliant. No turn line, no nicks or dings. Comes with some paper work but no box.
