SPECIAL ORDER OFFICIAL POLICE .38 SPEC. WITH FACTORY LETTER, SHIPPED 1932
Description: ONE OF THE VERY FEW SPECIAL ORDER GREAT DEPRESSION ERA COLT REVOLVERS: OFFICIAL POLICE .38 SPECIAL, 6" BARREL WITH COLT LETTER STATING "FURNISHED WITH A 3 1/2 LB. TRIGGER PULL. Very few Colt double action revolvers have special order features like this one with serial number 581XXX. The letter further states it was shipped to Shenk & Tittle Company, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on June 14, 1932. There were 10 other "same type" guns in the shipment, but the letter does not state of they all had special trigger pulls. Aside from a tiny chip (more like a "flake") in the bottom right front corner of the grip panel that doesn't go through to the metal, this revolver appears unfirred. It retains nearly all the original blue with barely a cylinder line that does not go through the blue. All the blue remains on the front face of the cylinder, exc. sharp markings, like new inside etc Checkered trigger, all the fire blue on the trigger and hammer back, even the ejector rod shaft has all the blue. A really interesting, special order 93 year old Colt in superb condition with factory letter.
