RARE Wartime Shipped Colt Detective Special 1942 - .38 Special
Description:
Detective Special From 1942 – RARE Wartime Shipped gun. This gun letters as shipped in April of 1942, which is a point in time when civilian shipments of guns had all but nearly ceased. The number of shipments of civilian guns of models of nearly any type can nearly be counted on one hand. Extremely rare gun. Matching serial number on crane/frame. Shows in high condition with speckling to the bluing and slight scratches here and there. Looks to have been holstered for a time, exhibiting some edge wear in spots consistent with that use. Otherwise a really straight and rare wartime shipped civilian gun. Bore is great, with good lands/grooves. Shipped to John K. Carmichael Co in NYC. - $1800.00
No shipping to California, unfortunately. Rest of USA is fine. The gun will be packed extremely well and will be shipped via FedEx with insurance to your FFL dealer in the USA (no CA shipping) for $50. The actual shipping cost is likely higher, but I share in the cost in covering the balance to try to help keep the cost low for the buyer. This gun requires a C&R FFL or 01 FFL license for transfer. Payments accepted are cashier’s checks/USPS Money orders (ships business day after arriving), or personal checks (ships 5 business days after arriving). ALL SALES FINAL. I'll confirm this with you upon purchasing. I do not accept Returns on used antique collector firearms.
My Background: I am a licensed 01 FFL (Bookhouse Boys LLC). I'm a member of CCA (Colt Collectors Association), TGCA (Texas Gun Collectors Association), SWCA (Smith & Wesson Collectors Association), HAS (Heritage Arms Society in MN), and chair/run the Minnesota Colt Collectors Group - the longest running and largest independent state group dedicated to Colt collecting. Thanks for checking out my listings!
