Description: For sale, a 1951 manufactured Colt Detective Special with the original "Coltwood" grips. This Detective Special has some carry wear but functions flawlessly and still locks up as tight as it did the day it left the factory 66 years ago. It is obvious that it was fired very little during it's life. The bore is pristine and bright with strong rifling. The cylinder bores are equally as nice with no pitting or erosion. The original swirled brown plastic "Coltwood" grips have shrunk a little, but are free from cracks or repairs. If you have been looking for a classy American classic carry gun, or just an example of a Detective Special that you can add to your collection and still shoot without harming it's value, this is perfect!
