Description: c1906 mfr. COLT NEW ARMY & NAVY .32-20 WCF Cal. Double Action REVOLVER C&R LE/MIL/Civilian Sidearm; Companion to Winchester 1892 Here we present a C&R Colt New Army & Navy Double Action Revolver, made in 1906 by the Colt Manufacturing Company with a production run from 1892 through 1907 in Hartford, Connecticut. The M1892 Colt Army and Navy was the first general issue double action revolver with a swing out cylinder used by the U.S. military. In 1892 the gun was adopted by the Army in .38 Long Colt caliber, and the revolver was given the name of New Army and Navy. This model came in many different chamberings, including the one that this one is .32-20, which would have made it a good companion to a Winchester in the same. The overall condition is good. Mottled finish/patina. The action works well in double and single action. The cylinder indexes and locks up. The bore is clean and reflective with strong rifling. The right grip has a chip in the corner and both grips have scrawled inscriptions both inside and outside. The outer inscription is up for interpretation but the inner inscription is “E. L. Gallagher”—as yet unidentified by us. Numbers match on the frame, crane, and cylinder latch. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 6 inches.
