Civil War Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver
Description: Serial #130664, .44 Caliber, 8" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has a few faint traces of freckling within the grooves. This is an 1863-made revolver that has all-matching numbers, including the wedge and cylinder arbor. The metal has an overall bright gray patina with some scattered areas of freckling and small peen marks scattered about the frame, cylinder, and barrel assembly. The cylinder retains about 40-50% of the naval scene and has some light-moderate pitting around the nipple cut-outs, as well as flattened safety pins along the rear face. "D" inspector initials are still clear on sides of the cylinder, and "DD" initials are present on the left side of the barrel breech. The brass trigger guard is tarnished to a mellow ochre patina while the walnut grip has minor handling marks and blemishes in an added oil finish over lightly sanded wood (the inspector cartouche is no longer visible). The revolver is quite tight, with no noticeable play or rattles in the barrel or cylinder, and the action is fully functional. This is a great representative example of a Civil War 1860 Army and is in very good-near fine condition overall. Antique; Price: $2,295.00 Antique: Yes Contact Seller |
