Antique Manhattan Percussion Revolver Series 1V. Extremely High Condition. 85% to 95% Overall. 6 1/2" Barrel. 100% Cylinder Scene.
Description:
Excellent antique Manhattan percussion revolver. Here is an outstanding Manhattan series 1V. S/N 57553 and made from April 1st 1864 to June 30th 1867 with S/N running from 45,200 to 69,200 with about 24,000 made in this series. This one has the very desirable 6 1/2” barrel. It is a 5 shot.36 caliber. All S/N matching including the wedge and the arbor pin and the cylinder is numbered on the rear. The mechanics are excellent as you would expect.. This gun is as crisp and tight as new as when it left the factory No front to rear movement on the cylinder and NO side to side wobble. Rock solid barrel to frame fit.. You have to use the rammer to push off of the front of the cylinder to remove the barrel it is that tight of a gun. As you can see, this gun retains most of it's original factory finish. The photos do not do this gun justice and looks better in hand than the photos show in my opinion. The case colors are much more vivid in hand than the photos show. You will not be dissapointed with this gun when you hold it. Hard to show the finish this gun actually has from the glare but I think you can get the idea. Some of the barrel blue has flaked off in a few areas mainly on the right side but I would say it still retains about 85% bright and deep blue. The case colors on the frame show very well and are most bright and vivid. I would say 90% in hand.. The case colors on the rammer show 90% to 95% as well. The hammer has about 85% case colors.. As I mentioned, this gun looks much better in hand than the photos show. The trigger guard has about 85% to 90% silver plating. Just traces of silver on the back strap around the hammer area. All the markings are excellent. The cylinder scene is 100% but the all the blue has flaked off.. There are traces of blue down in the chambers. The grips have over 95% original varnish. NO cracks or chips and a perfect factory fit. Full unaltered front sight. The screw heads look to have never been touch but the wedge screw shows some turning and all still have all the straw like case colored. .. All the nipples in the cylinder look like it has never been fired.. They look like new !!! The bore is mint, bright and shiny with just a couple very minor specks that will probably clean out.. There are streaks of blue still inside the bore !!! About all I can say about this little jewel.. I would say one of the best Manhattan you could possibly find unless you found one “AS NEW” in the case and you won't buy it for this price.. A very hard gun to improve on. Don't miss this one.... $50 insured shipping. Call 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos.. I can try taking photos from different angles to show what you may want to see..
