Description:
An Early U.S. Civil War Military Issued Percussion Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver With An Army Shoulder Stock In Nice Condition. The army revolver is serial #35,172 with all matching numbers including the wedge. Made in 1862. It has very nice metal, markings, and edges throughout. It is fully U.S. Sub-Inspected. The cylinder scene is fully visible throughout. The address on top of the barrel is very crisp & clear. All of the metal on the revolver has a nice even aging patina throughout it. The frame, lever, and hammer all show fading factory case colors on them. All screws are nice on the pistol. It has a fine brass trigger guard. The original grips are fine plus throughout with a clear U.S. Inspectors Cartouche on the left side. It has a very tight and crisp action. The bore is very good.
The stock is in nice condition throughout. It has fine original wood throughout with a nice grain in it. there is an old knot in it on the bottom right hand side. The brass shoulder stock attachment is also in nice condition and fits the revolver very well. The brass butt plate is an old replacement probably from the mid 1900's. It does not fit quite as well as the rest of the parts on the stock, but looks good and has age to it. There is no serial number on it. Some of these original stocks were found in the early to mid 1900's and were missig a part or two. They were finished by gun shops such as Bannerman's Island and then sold. This could be one of them with the butt plate being replaced.
