The largest of Colts snake guns, The Anaconda is built on Colts oversized MM frame. The Anaconda was released to the world in 1990. This 1997 example, resplendent in Colts highly polished “Ultimate” Bright stainless-steel finish has a 6-inch ventilated rib barrel with red ramp blade front sight and white outlined adjustable rear sight, the top strap is tapped for scope mounts, a rare and valued factory addition. The bore is in mirror perfect condition and is chambered for the classic .45 Colt, significantly less .45 Anacondas where manufactured when compared to the standard .44 magnums making them harder to find and consequently more desirable. The gun shows “as new” with a fine drag line on the cylinder most likely from the gun being held and admired. The gun does not appear to have been fired. Grips are black combat style finger groove grips with silver Rampant colt medallions, they show some handling wear. Cocking the hammer on this gun is the most satisfying combination of sound and silky-smooth mechanical perfection leading to a SA trigger break of 4lb, DA breaks at 9.5lb with no overtravel. All of Colts snake guns are perfect vehicles for investment, they are climbing in value year after year, getting a foot on the ladder sooner than later is the way to go, so strike fast or this snake will be gone!
