COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY 1880 IVORY
Description:
Colt SAA
This is an original Colt Single Action in nice condition. There are traces of nitre blue on the screws and the hammer and trigger are plated. The single-line address appears faint initially, and is then strong from "Hartford" onward, which is typical of the era due to a weak roll die. The gun has a later-style ejector rod and a black powder frame. The gun has the original one-piece, ivory grips. The Colt letter records for this particular revolver were unavailable and no longer exist.
Approximately 50% of the nickel remains on the cylinder, 85% on the barrel, 75% on the frame, and 80% on the grip strap and trigger guard. The bore is bright and clean with minor, scattered pitting. This is an excellent, original, true Old West gun.
