Colt Patent Firearms Mfg. Co.
Description:
Offeredl is a First Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver in 38-40 caliber. The caliber is relatively rare as only 11% of all Colt SAAs were made in this caliber. The gun has a 7 1/2" barrel and is the standard two piece molded resin grips with the Colt logo.
the gun is in very good condition with about 50% of the original blue finish on the barrel and ejector rod cover. The Color Case Hardened colors applied ot the frame and trigger are plainly visible although not brignt. The cylinder is a deep blue finish and may well have been reblued some point in its past. The overal appearance is very pleasing and free of surface corrosion or damage. The bore is very good with about 85-90% of the original contour and only a smal light area of pitting that should not effect the guns accuracy.
Mechanically the gun is in very good condition and functions as designed. The trigger retains the desired four clicks when engaged. The screws are in very good condition with very slight wear.
Overall this gun is in above average condition for a gun of this age. It will make a very nice addition to any Colt collection or a very good Cowboy Shooter.
