Description:
This is a great looking old Colt Frontier Six Shooter shipped in the "soft" for engraving to Hartley and Graham in 1883. It retains approx. 50% original nickel with GREAT old Hartley & Graham carved Mexican eagle and snake pearl grips with the low cut screw hole in the left side of the grip. (see pic). Good mechanics, and a very good bore with light frosting, excellent screws, sharp and clear serial #'s, patent dates, barrel address, and 44CF stamping on the left trigger guard bow. Small 44 on the underside of the barrel still visible. There were only 77 guns produced with 4 3/4" barrels chambered in 44-40 cal. that were shipped in the "soft". (see chart). Most were .45cal.
