Colt Police Positive Target .22 Caliber with Box & Paperwork
Description: Colt Police Positive Target .22 caliber with original box and paperwork from 1938. It has a checkered backstrap and checkered trigger. The gun remains in excellent condition with almost no handling wear. The bore is excellent and the action is perfect. This gun has the Patridge front sight and Square-notch rear sight. The original checkered walnut grips are free from cracks and chips and remain in new condition. The original box is in fair to good condition with moderate use and retains the labels with all of their original markings. It even has the white label on the top lid that shows the Patridge Sights. The bottom of the box has the original matching serial number. The bottom of the grip frame has the initials JMU (See Photo) and we have not researched them. A Colt factory letter should hopefully give more information as to what they stand for. The Police Positive Target was first offered in 1910 with the small frame version and then in 1926 Colt went to the slightly larger frame that was much easier to grip with its larger checkered walnut stocks and checkered back strap. This gun is the 2nd model with the improved frame size. These small-frame target revolvers are often overlooked by collectors but are the same quality as the medium-frame Officers Model Target or the large-frame New Service Target. If you have been looking for a great small-frame target revolver to collect or shoot you have just found it. I offer a three-day non-firing inspection period and always want the buyer to be satisfied with their purchase. The gun will be packed correctly and shipped via FedEx with insurance to your FFL dealer in the continental United States for $55 (California is extra because I have to ship through my local dealer). This gun requires a C&R or FFL license for transfer. I ship the following day after the payment arrives and provide tracking information.
