Colt Official Police, Cal. .38 Special, 4 Inch Barrel

Description:
The Colt Official Police, Pre-War was made from 1927 to 1946 (Note: last patent date on the barrel is Oct. 5, 1926).  The 6-shot revolvers were fitted with either a 2, 4, 5, or 6 inch barrel, round or square butt, checkered walnut grips, fixed sights, blue or nickel finished, and were chambered in either .22 LR, .32-20 WCF, .38-200 (British), .41 Long, or .38 Special.  This 1940 vintage Colt is as described and is fitted with a 4 inch barrel, square butt frame, blue finished and chambered in .38 Special.  It is in excellent original condition, retaining 90-95% of its original blue finish, with thinning at the muzzle, sharp edges of the cylinder and frame, and some corrosion spotting on the back-strap.  The bore looks like new and the action functions perfectly, with perfect timing and a tight lock-up.  The grips are in very good condition, with flattened checkering and wear at the back-strap, but fit well and do not have any cracks or chips.  The bore is bright and the action functions perfectly, with a very tight lock-up.  Sorry, no box or paper-work.                                                             PRICE:    $575             We are Antique & Modern Firearms in Lexington, KY, dealer of fine firearms since 1974.   PH. 859-276-1419         We Buy, Sell and Trade Firearms & Knives.    Have a Individual Firearm,  Firearms Collection, or Firearms Estate to sell, let us know, we can buy or consignment sell it for you.       (sales at am-firearms)
