LNIB Colt Officers Model Special (Fourth Issue) .38 Special **Mfg. 1950**
Description: Colt Officers Model Special (Fourth Issue) chambered in .38 Special. The fourth issue Officers Models were only produced from 1949-1952, with this one manufactured in 1950. Similar to the the Third issue, only with a heavier non-tapered barrel, new style hammer, "Coltmaster" rear sight, checkered plastic "Coltwood" grips, and no patent dates on the barrel. They featured a 6" barrel and were chambered in either .22 L.R. or 38 Special. This model was a continuation of the Officers Model Match and is built on the same frame as the later Python revolvers. The condition is excellent with 98% of the original finish remaining, with only a few very light handling marks and high edge wear at the muzzle. The bore is excellent as are the grips. It also comes with its original box, part of the warranty card, and shooting suggestions pamplet. The box is in very nice condition, but the lid has seperated from the carton. This was Colt's "top of the line" target revolver in the early 1950's and with its short production run makes it a scarce variation.
