Description: Colt Officers Model .38 Heavy Barrel .38 Special. Made in 1937, serial 606692 has a six-inch heavy tapered barrel, adjustable rear sight (Micro), textured backstrap and wood grips. Custom features include a taller front sight, reworked hammer spur and a Henshaw trigger shoe. No box or factory papers. CONDITION: The bore is strong and bright. Cylinder locks tightly. Metal finish is approximately 75 percent. Grips are approximately 90 percent. ACCURACY: Using both Federal and Black Hills 148-grain wadcutters six-shot groups measuring 1-inch center-to-center are common. ROY HUNTINGTON has written over 2,500 firearm-related articles since his first effort was published by Guns & Ammo in 1982. While his editing career actually began at Police Magazine, industry-wide recognition came after he was named editor of AmericanHandgunner. Roy became the publisher of American Handgunner, Guns and a host of special editions presented by the Firearms Marketing Group in 2004. He remained at the helm of American Handgunner until semi-retirement in 2021. Roy still writes features, a column for American Handgunner and creates a significant amount of video content. His knowledge of all things gun combined with his famous sense of humor shines brightly through all of his work. PROVENANCE: A personalized letter from Roy Huntington will be sent to the purchaser.
