1947 Shipped Colt Bankers Special - LATE Pre-Post Shipment to NYC - .38 NP
Description:
Bankers Special in .38 NP – PREWAR/POST-WAR shipped gun in June of 1947. Letters to J.L. Galef & Son in NYC. This gun represents an extreme rarity, in that it’s a very late shipment for a Bankers Special, probably within the very last shipment or shipments of Bankers Special revolvers. Gun exhibits wear commensurate with holstering and moderate use. Grips show consistent wear on both sides. Serial numbers match on crain and frame. The bluing has a fair amount of edge and otherwise wear to bluing, crazing, speckling, abrasions, slightest of pitting, and plum-browning in spots. Grips fit well, and are unnumbered underneath, but appear to be original and consistent with the condition of the rest of the gun. Its one of the very latest Bankers Specials I’ve seen or found in research, and it was well used but not abused. Bore is great, with good lands/grooves. A solid workhorse uncommon snubby from the prewar era sold in the post war era.
No shipping to California, unfortunately. Rest of USA is fine. The gun will be packed extremely well and will be shipped via FedEx with insurance to your FFL dealer in the USA (no CA shipping, unfortunately) for $50. The actual shipping cost is likely higher, but I share in the cost in covering the balance to try to help keep the cost low for the buyer. This gun requires a C&R FFL or 01 FFL license for transfer. Payments accepted are cashier’s checks/USPS Money orders (ships business day after arriving), or personal checks (ships 5 business days after arriving). ALL SALES FINAL. I'll confirm this with you upon purchasing. I do not accept Returns on used antique collector firearms.
My Background: I am a licensed 01 FFL (Bookhouse Boys LLC). I'm a member of CCA (Colt Collectors Association), TGCA (Texas Gun Collectors Association), SWCA (Smith & Wesson Collectors Association), HAS (Heritage Arms Society in MN), and chair/run the Minnesota Colt Collectors Group - the longest running and largest independent state group dedicated to Colt collecting. Thanks for checking out my listings!
