RARE 1971 "Sand Blast" Nickel Colt Detective Special LNIB/Lettered
Description:
Colt Detective Special with desirable "Sand Blast" nickel finish. One of only 100 manufactured for Jays Sales Company of Des Moines, Iowa in 1971. This is the only Colt revolver to have ever received this custom nickel finish from the factory. The revolver remains in very high condition and rates at least 99%. The cylinder face, recoil shield, and forcing cone appear almost new with virtually no discernable turn line on the cylinder itself. The action is crisp with tight lock up, and the bore is clean with strong lands/grooves. The factory walnut grips are exceptional and are numbered to the gun. All original literature, including the sales receipt, is included. A Colt Archive letter is also included that verifies the original configuration. The "Kraft" style box is indeed factory original. I've only seen 3 other boxed examples offered for sale in the last 25 years, and all three had the same style hand serial numbered box. With a total of only 100 produced, this is unique opportunity to add an exceptionally rare, seldom seen Colt revolver to your advanced collection. Free Shipping...
