Colt Detective Special chambered in .38 Special with serial number matching original box dating production to 1965. Excellent condition, with stunning original factory nickel finish. The gun appears to be unfired since leaving the factory. The cylinder face, recoil shield, and forcing cone are exceptionally clean with virtually no turn line on the cylinder itself. The action is crisp with tight lock up, with a clean bore. The factory checkered walnut grips are like new and are serial numbered to the gun. The box itself is in good condition with no tape repair. Original paperwork includes the “Handling the Handgun” pamphlet, warranty card, and Colt Industries sales invoice dated 7/16/65.
