Colt King Cobra Conceal Carry Model 357 Magnum New in Box
Description: The original King Cobra, introduced in 1986, was Colt’s attempt at a mass production medium frame revolver similar to Smith & Wesson’s Model 686. As the Python required extensive hand fitting, it could not be produced as fast as a 686 could. The King Cobra was fully the equal of the 686 and is still a fine revolver in its own right when compared to the Python. It was discontinued in 1992, brought back in 1994, and then discontinued for what would be the final time in 1998, at least for the original version. After the successful reintroduction of the Cobra in 2017, Colt introduced an updated version of the King Cobra in 2019. Like the 2017 Cobra revolver, the King Cobra of the 21st Century features several improvements to the internal lock work including a reduction in the number of required parts to operate and a smoother trigger pull. The revolver shown in the pictures is brand-new-in-the-box and is optimized for conceal carry use. It uses a bobbed hammer so as to reduce the likelihood of the hammer snagging on a person’s clothing when drawing the gun. As such it is a double-action only revolver which is suited for a revolver intended for conceal carry use. The front sight has a “gold” dot to aid in lining up the sights more quickly. The King Cobra uses a Hogue Overmolded grip for reducing felt recoil, though the user will not likely notice any recoil during a self-defense situation. Chambered for the famous .357 Magnum, the King Cobra is well suited for self defense work. As with any revolver chambered for the.357 Magnum, the King Cobra will also safely chamber and fire the less powerful .38 Special, which is useful for practice sessions.
