Colt single action army artillery model U.S.

Description:
Colt U.S.artillery model serial number 113535 Colt Single Action Army this gun is all original, no cold blue or fakery. This is a great example of an untouched Colt martial revolver. There are traces of blue mixing with a beautiful untouched patina, and action works great very tight no slop. grips are very nice and fit great definitely original to this gun with faint cartouche
SAA is a classic “six-shooter” that is a worldwide icon of the United States of America and the Western Frontier. The Artillery or Springfield Armory Model of the SAA is a period (1895-1903) armory or factory refinished gun to extend U.S. military service. The Cavalry Model 1873s were originally issued with 7½" barrels in .45 Colt. Most of these guns, as this one is, had the barrels shortened to 5½" and are now known as Artillery Models. Only about 17,000 of these refurbished guns were completed. In all but the rarest variant of the already rare Artillery Model, the serial numbers will be mixed. U.S. military purchased SAAs are among the most sought after historic sidearms of the era, having been used in action in the Spanish-American War and the Philippine-American War by the U.S. Army.
