Colt Model 1877 Thunderer Sheriff’s Model Revolver
Description:
Serial #45858, .41 Colt, 2 1/2" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This is an 1883-made revolver that has the etched panel on the left side of the short barrel, and retains 75-80% of the original nickel finish, with the balance flaked to the underlying pewter gray and plum-brown metal. Bright fire blue is still present on the backs of both the hammer and trigger, with traces of blue remaining on some of the screw heads. The left hard rubber grip is an unnumbered original, and in excellent, little-worn condition; while the right side grip is a modern replacement. The lock-up is tight, and the action is fully functional in both single and double-action, although there is some discernible stiffness present as the cylinder rotates for a few of the chambers. This is a great looking Thunderer, in a desirable configuration, and would make a nice addition to any collection. Antique
