CASED 1874 Antique COLT NEW LINE .22 Cal. RF Spur Trigger POCKET Revolver
Manufactured in 1874 with FITTED WOODEN CASE
Description: CASED 1874 Antique COLT NEW LINE .22 Cal. RF Spur Trigger POCKET Revolver Manufactured in 1874 with FITTED WOODEN CASE Here we present an antique Cased Colt New Line .22 Revolver First Model, made in the second year of production in 1874 in Hartford, Connecticut. The New Line was a single action pocket revolver introduced by the Colt’s Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Company in 1873 and continued through 1884, with the .22 caliber being manufactured between 1873 and 1877 with a total of roughly 55,343 being manufactured. Two years after the Colt House Revolver, a year after the Colt Open Top, and almost simultaneously alongside the Colt Peacemaker, the Colt New Line was one of the first metallic cartridge, rear-loading revolvers manufactured by Colt. It was designed to be a handy pocket-carry revolver, chambered in .22 rimfire, which was very popular for self-defense in those days. The revolver features 7 shots of .22 rimfire. Of all the Colt “New Line” revolvers made, the .22 caliber was the only one featuring a 7 shot cylinder. All other calibers utilized a 5-shot cylinder. The overall condition is fine. Original nickel finish with fire blue accents. The numbers match. The action is excellent with solid lockup of the cylinder. The bore is in great shape with sharp rifling. The rosewood grips are smooth and solid. The red velvet lined wooden case is handmade and in great shape. The key to the case is absent. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 2-1/4 inches. Caliber: .22 Rimfire (short; black powder) Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1550 #227649 SOLD Antique: Yes |
