The grips have deluxe burled wood and there is a chip out of the front right hand corner. This gun on the back strap is engraved “ “David W. Odiorne from his/ Uncle Charles April 21st, 1864" David Odiorne was a 1st Lieutenant of the 97th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment. Lieutenant Odiorne was wounded on September 29, 1864 during the action at Fort Gilmer. He mustered out in 1865, married in 1868 and died in 1889. This gun case comes with a factory case with all of the original accessories.
