Description: A U.S. Civil War Military Issued Colt Model 1851 Percussion Navy Revolver Directly Identified By Serial Number To "Capt. Stephen V. Thomas" Of The "10th Michigan Cavalry" In Nice Untouched Condition With Complete Archive History. The revolver is serial #142,131 and has all matching numbers. It was made in 1863 which is when he was issued the gun. It is all original and complete. The gun has nice metal, markings, and edges. It has a good cylinder scene which shows some wear in spots as expected. All of the metal on the revolver has an even natural patina on it. All screws are very good. The original grips are full and are very good plus in condition. It has a very good bore and action. Capt. Thomas was from Lapeer Michigan and first enlisted as a 1st Lieutenant on 11/13/1863, he mustured out on 11/11/865 at Memphis TN. He was promoted to Captain on 4/7/1864 which is when the 10th Michigan Cavalry began their action in the war. They were in many battles which were mostly in Tennessee with a few in North Carolina, and Virginia. Some of these were Knoxville, Watauga Bridge, Carter's Station, Flat Creek Bridge, and Thorn Hill, Sweetwater TN. Others included Henry Court House, VA, Martinsburg, WV, Salem, VA, Ashville NC, and Greenville, SC. There were 47 in all during the war. This Is A Very Nice Example Of A Fully Documented U.S. Issued Colt Model 1851 Percussion Navy Revolver Identified To Captain Stephen V. Thomas Of The 10th Michigan Cavalry With Fine History. All of the archive papers are included with the gun. This Colt Revolver Is Fresh Out Of An Old Collection nd Would Be A Fine Addition To A New One!
