Rare Colt
1860 Fluted Cylinder Army
Description: *lowered price* I have a very Rare Civil War era Colt 1860 fluted Army revolver caliber .44 Early 3 digit # 924 Colt’s new army revolver made to replace the dragoon and Many serial numbers in this range have factory records but a request made for such a letter, revealed that no record was found for this one. Some research did show that consecutive serial numbers 923 and 929 are documented shipped to Richmond Virginia on or around April 15, 1861, this was the last official legal shipment of Colts to the the south (Confederacy) just a day after the Battle of Ft. Sumter. Over 2000 fluted armies were sent South and this was popular revolver at beginning of Civil War. Standard configuration 4 screw frame made for shoulder stock & fluted cylinder. CONDITION: Fair-good overall, appears original and complete. Gun has been heavily cleaned & buffed over the years serial numbers are worn but mostly discernible and matching on barrel, frame, cylinder, trigger guard, & backstrap. Colt frame patent & barrel address only partially seen. Patent mark on cylinder not visible but matching ppartial serial number is observed. Grips are original Colt grips but from different 1860 with partial inspection cartouches. Most screws and wedge are replaced. Mechanics are good, revolver will hold cock & half cock, and the cylinder rotates. Bore has good rifling with pitting. But despite it's hard life being used , it still very Rare and collectable Colt ready for any Colt collection. Check or Postal Money order shipped will be determined. insurance extra.
