Antique CIVIL WAR Era Engraved MOORE’S PATENT CO. .32 Cal. RF BELT Revolver Scarce & Very Collectible Civil War Revolver
Description: Antique CIVIL WAR Era Engraved MOORE’S PATENT CO. .32 Cal. RF BELT Revolver Scarce & Very Collectible Civil War Revolver Here we present an antique Engraved Moore’s Patent Firearms Co. Single Action Belt Revolver. These revolvers were made in Brooklyn, New York from 1861-1863 and number less than 8,000 in total. In this era, many companies infringed on the Rollin White patent. They were promptly sued. Others tried and succeeded in finding ways around the patent to make metallic cartridge revolvers while the Rollin White Patent was still in effect. Daniel Moore, the designer of this revolver was one who did both. He designed a cartridge revolver that was the first “swing-out” cylinder revolver, but blatantly infringed on S&W’s patent. He was sued and lost. The other significance of this pistol is that many of these are known to have been purchased by Union officers and enlisted men for use during the American Civil War. Mechanically, this revolver utilizes a push-button release that allows the barrel and cylinder to cant to the right for loading and unloading. The cylinder is chambered for 7 shots of .32 rimfire and is fully bored through, violating the Smith & Wesson owned Rollin White Patent. The pistol also features full factory engraving on the brass frame, which is quite handsome. The overall condition is good. The action function, although the cylinder must be manually indexed. The bore is in very good shape and has retained some shimmer. Good grip, average wear. This example is nicely engraved with traditional designs on the frame. Legible markings. Don’t miss a chance to own this rare piece of firearms and Civil War history! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 4 inches. Caliber: .32 rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail!
