An Early & Very Unusual 1870's Conversion Of A Colt Model 1849 Percussion Pocket Revolver In Nice Untouched Condition. All original and complete. The unusual 1870's pistol has the back end & barrel of a "Colt Model 1849 Pocket Revolver" with a custom made frame from another period made pistol. It looks like it could have been done by a small shop of the 1870's period or even a factory trying something new out. The serial # on the pistol is 296,289. The back strap & trigger guard are matching numbers. There is no other numbers or marks on the rest of the pistol. All the metal on the pistol has a nice dark patina on it. The brass trigger guard & back strap are untouched with a mellow color. The original grips are fine throughout and fit perfectly. The pistol has a nice action and bore. The barrel is 5 5/8 inches long. The entire pistol is 9 1/4 inches long. This Is A Very Early & Very Unusual 1870's Conversion Of A Colt Model 1849 Percussion Pocket Revolver That Deserves Further Research Done On It!
