Description:
Here is a Smith & Wesson New Model 3 Target in 32-44. Its an early one with the nickel bead front sight. These early ones also came with the fixed rear target sight. It was common to change them in the early days of target shooting to the adjustable ones. These early adjustable rear target sights did not carry a serial number on them so they are sometimes picked off and placed on other guns. This gun currently has a rear service latch with serial number 2070, which probably came from a Frontier model somebody wanted target sights on. I have several target sights in my stash and was planning on replacing the rear sight with a proper target one. If you want the gun with the service rear sight you pay the price listed. If you want the rear target sight in the white with the blade that needs to be thinned down to fit it, add $150. If you want the blued (its more of a matte blue) rear sight add $300 Everything functions perfectly and the bore is near mint. Someone took the time to stipple the top of the barrel just in front of the rear sight
