Description: Serial Number 4303 Bbl, 5 1/2" Cal, .42 Cup Primed Cartridge Mfg Circa 1863. Brass frame with 2 piece varnished walnut grip. 6 shot non-fluted cylinder. Front loading cylinder to avoid the Rollin White Patent restriction.Plants Mfg, address on top of barrel with Merwin & Bray patnt address on left side of Bbl,numerous examples have been excavated from civil War sites as well as published in CW pictures. Condition. Very good with brass frame having toned to a mustard coloring as the iron has toned to a chocolate patina. Action operates properly and grips are excellent.
