Description: FINE 1880s Antique Smith & Wesson .38 S&W Double Action Double Action Revolver with Red Brindle Grips! Here we present an antique Smith & Wesson .38 S&W Single Action Revolver, made circa 1882 in Springfield, Massachusetts. This would have been a great choice for a sidearm in the 1880s. This would have competed favorably against Colt’s Model 1877 Lightning Revolver. The S&W features a smooth double action trigger pull and was a medium-sized revolver in the ubiquitous .38 S&W cartridge. This one wears almost all of its original high-polish blue finish with case colored hammer. The red brindle grips really set this one apart. The overall condition is very fine. 97% of the original blue finish remains with vibrant case colors. The markings are clear. The numbers match. The trademarked red brindle grips are in fine shape. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. The action is excellent, strong, smooth and crisp. Here is a fantastic, 140-year-old Smith & Wesson that doesn’t look a day over 21! Own the original!
