British Meyers Copy of S&W No. 2 Revolver Engraved
Description:
NSN, .32 RF, 5 3/4" octagon barrel with a very good bore that has dark freckling along its length.
This is a high quality, British-proofed copy of the famous S&W No. 2 tip-up revolver that has only a small "MEYERS" markings on the underside of the barrel, and retains some traces of original bright blue on protected areas, most noticeably on the frame behind the recoil shield.
The remainder of the metal has an overall dark plum-brown patina with thin freckling throughout, and there are some small peen marks on the barrel assembly at the base of the ejector rod.
The checkered walnut grips are in very good shape with only minor handling marks and light wear at the butt, as well as some flattening of the points, especially a small area near the top of the right panel.
The lock-up is good, although there is a small amount of lateral play in the barrel.
This is a very unusual and interesting revolver; itself a copy of an iconic American handgun, and rates very good-near fine condition overall.
Antique;
