1890s .38 S&W “LEMON SQUEEZER”!

Here we present an antique Smith & Wesson Safety Hammerless 3rd Model Revolver, manufactured circa 1894 in Springfield, Massachusetts. The S&W Third Model was manufactured from 1890 through 1898. They were also known as the “New Departure” or the “Lemon Squeezer”, the latter due to the safety bar on the backstrap. This little revolver holds 5 shots of .38 S&W. It was designed to meet the defensive needs of citizens and law enforcement in the late 19th Century. This is a top break design with an automatic ejector, hammerless design and grip safety. These features made it great for pocket carry. This S&W Revolver features a nickel and blued finish with hard rubber grips.

The overall condition is fine. 90%+ of the original nickel finish remains with good case colors and blued accents. The markings are clear. The numbers match. The trademarked hard rubber grips are in great shape. The bore is in very good shape, clean with sharp rifling. The action is excellent.
