Antique Smith & Wesson #1 Third Issue 22 RF Revolver
Description:
Serial #64020, .22 RF (black powder), 3 inch barrel with a fine dark bore with strong rifling and several spots of roughness. This is the Smith & Wesson Model No. 1 Third Issue revolver manufactured from 1868-1881. The seven shot revolver remains in excellent condition with about 90-95% of the original bright polished nickel finish with scattered spots of flaking that have turned brown. The hammer shows original case-hardened colors and the grips rate excellent with only scattered use marks and are correctly numbered to the gun. The action functions properly with correct indexing and locks up tight in the cylinder with only a tiny bit of barrel wobble. A very nice example of these neat little seven shot pocket revolvers.
