A Rare and Desirable Colt Thuer Conversion Of A Model 1860 Army Revolver In Its Original Factory Case With All Accessories
Description: A Very Rare And desirable Colt Thuer Conversion Of A Model 1860 Army Revolver In Its Original Factory Case With All Accessories In Fine Plus Untouched Condition. Serial # 154,503, all matching numbers on original percussion parts. The thuer Conversion cylinder is #632 which is correct. All original and complete. Only 5,000 made in total production of all seven Colt Model Revolvers. This included the " Colt Dragoon, 1849 Pocket, 1851 Navy, 1860 Army, 1861 Navy, 1862 Police, and 1862 Pocket Navy. These Rare Thuer Revolvers were manufactured from 1869-1872. They were Colt's first attempt to produce revolving firearms that were chambered for metallic cartridges. The revolver has fine plus metal and markings. The cylinder scenes on both cylinders are excellent and full. It has a "New York Address" on the barrel and is English Proofed. These examples came back over here during their use in the 1870's. The barrel and conversion cylinder on the gun have a natural chocolate patina on them mixing with original thinning blue in areas throughout. The original percussion cylinder in the case retains most of its original factory blue. The frame, loading lever, and hammer all retain most of their original vivid case colors. All screws are excellent with their original factory colors. The backstrap and trigger guard retain most of their original color. The grips are excellent plus and retain all of their original factory varnish. The revolver has an excellent action and bore. The original case and all factory accessories and tools are all fine plus to excellent. The original label inside the box lid is clear and fine. The outside of the case is excellent throughout with no warping on the lid.
