Description: Very Rare Antique National Arms Co. Front Loading Teat-fire Revolver Antique Moore’s Patent Firearms Co. Front loading Revolver. Estimate production about 30,000 This is a very rare National Arms Marked barrel. Only about 5,000 Produced. SN: 20082 Front Loading .32 cal Teat-fire single action spur trigger revolver. Made 1864-1870 3 ¼” barrel six shot, brass frame with silver plate finish. Barrel and cylinder blued. Walnut grips. Birds head butt Barrel markings : NATIONAL ARMS CO. BROOKLYN,N.Y. Cylinder marked: D. WILLIAMSON’S PATENT.JAN.5.-MAY.71864 Daniel Moore and David Williamson designed the special teat-fire cartridge to circumvent the Rollin White patents. Moore was a serious competitor to Smith & Wesson and because of their strong sales record the company was Purchased by Colt in 1870 Condition: 3 ¼” nice bore with a couple of very minor pitting spots and still showing strong rifling. Blued metal finish has faded and turned to an attractive antique looking gun-metal grey patina. The brass frame has a small amount of silver plate still showing in spots. All serial numbers are matching and barrel markings are clear and somewhat legible. Original walnut grips are in very good condition with a couple very small dents and still retains most of the original varnish with wear on the other edges. , the usual wear and tear for a revolver of this age. Both grips are numbered to the gun. Mechanically the revolver works very good in single action , half and full-cock positions with good timing and lock-up. To remove the cylinder, you remove the barrel wedge, remove the barrel, then unscrew the cylinder lug. This model is missing the side latch and screw. Otherwise a complete original revolver.
