SMITH & WESSON 2nd MODEL SCHOFIELD REVOLVER, ANTIQUE, WITH ARCHIVE LETTER!
Description:
This is a Very Fine Smith & Wesson Schofield ,2nd Model, serial #5154, 45 S&W, 7" barrel with a bright minty bore. Comes with a letter of Authentification from the Smith&Wesson Archives! This revolver remains in a very nice state of preservation. The frame is properly marked on butt "U.S." with various sub-inspector's initials on various parts. The frame retains about 75 - 80% bright original blue finish with most loss on the backstrap where a smooth brown patina is prevailing, the front strap is similar but to a lesser extent. The cylinder and barrel show about 20% original blue mostly in the cylinder and rib flutes with the balance being a pleasing smooth brown patina. All markings in metal remain clear and legible and there doesn't appear to be any pitting present on the revolver. The latch, hammer and triggerguard show over 90% original color case-hardened finish which is fading but has a lovely mellow appearance. The two-piece walnut grips rate about excellent with 90% plus original finish remaining with strong clear and legible cartouches on each side, the left side also bears the date "1876". The screw heads remain mostly untouched with a few showing very light slot wear. This is an extremely fine Schofield bordering on excellent compared to what collector's usually find. A really nice Schofield. Buyer pays $20.00 shipping to lower 48 states. I accept USPS Money Orders or Bank Cashier's Check. Will accept Personal Check, with shipping hold.Three day, non-firing, non-disassembly, inspection period. If returned, for any reason, full refund, less shipping. Layaway Available! ANTIQUE!
